Testimonials of John Dozier and his book, “The Weeping, the Window, the Way”:

This book is filled with the Holy Spirit and will take flight from one hurting soul to another until countless have been comforted, enlightened, uplifted and brought to a truer, deeper faith in God!

John Dozier offers the cure for our nation’s number one killer – heart disease. His prescription is not lowering cholesterol and high blood pressure but stopping the hardening of hearts that kill our relationships, steal our joy, and rob us from daily living. In straight-forward, yet playful use of words, John bears his heart and defines how suffering can open a window through which God shows us the way. This book touched my heart and I know it will touch yours.

It was Voltaire who said. ‘Every man is the creature of the age in which he lives; very few are able to raise themselves above the ideas of the time.’ In The Weeping, the Window, the Way, John reveals how his own heart bought into false promises, and asks us to allow God to raise ourselves above one of the most seductive ideas of our time: the idol of our personal comfort.

An excellent read: Excellent Scripturally as to God’s purposes in our lives through suffering. A thorough study of God’s intersection with humanity as He pursues each of us in distinctively different ways.

This book has ministered to me in many ways. My life is in chaos and I am in the weeping stage and I have gained a tremendous amount of clarity of how God can take me through the Weeping stage to the Window, where I will see the Way… the great opportunity of mercy from our Savior Jesus Christ. John takes you into his journey, his heart and into the incredible story of his own suffering and the rejoicing God has provided him.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to understand the unending forgiveness God has provided for believers. The Weeping, The Window, The Way is a book I will read many times.

John has done a great job of providing insight and instruction on how to get into the heart of your heart. John is very effective in relating biblical teaching and the joy Jesus Christ can bring into your life. John captured my attention by relating his personal pain to the universally redeeming love and joy we can receive from Jesus Christ, as Rescuer and Redeemer.

I have been blessed tremendously by this book and think you will be too.

John has been instrumental in helping me through some life-changing events and has been a life-long friend. He listens when you need listening and talks when you need talking. He has taught me how to be better not bitter as a result of life’s challenges. He has taught me how God can replace a hardened heart with a heart of flesh that in turn helps me help others. Give a man a fish and he eats for one day. Teach a man to fish and he will never be hungry.

John’s book helped me see more clearly how we can become better from suffering and that Jesus and the Holy Spirit are always on our side to help us along this arduous yet rewarding journey. I will be reading and re-reading this book for as long as I live. Hardened Heart to Heart of Flesh!

John Dozier’s book is full of so many intense spiritual messages that my heart is overflowing. I have always believed that at those times when I felt the absence of God that He was, in fact, not away from me, but was rather carrying me through the situation unseen. John reminds me that while He may indeed be unseen, He is in my heart and soul at all times. The more I reflect on John’s message, the more I can now see that I did and do feel God’s presence constantly. He is always there; I need to be more aware of Him. The book is at the same time sad and joyous. I can only imagine the difficulty John had at revealing so much of his heart and story—and that is also part of what makes this book a terrific read. Forget any and all preconceptions you may have and just read it!

Insightful, amazing, life changing! Wow! I am still reading, but can already feel the transformation of my life.  In times of desperation, I have always heard the voice within me, but have not always listened.  I now understand the importance of that voice and the message it brings.  Thank you for helping to open my window and free my heart. This is a must read for anyone who has avoided the messages being sent to them. Great work!

The Weeping, the Window, the Way” by John Dozier was a transformative reading experience for me. He turned his personal tragedy into a celebration of God’s gifts and mysterious purposes. The questions he raises and the thought-provoking exercises he provides challenged my beliefs and continue to do so. I also attended one of John’s book-signing events where he talked about his book and his insights in a very humble, humorous and gentle way. Everything about his mission has given me hope for a better way for me and the world to live. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to encounter such an extraordinary immersion in faith.

John’s book “The Weeping, The Window, The Way” is one of a kind. His extraordinary life impacted everything he is and he does. He has such a heart for people in need and his passion reflects in his ministry. John’s sense of humor does not over-shadow his intelligence and deep understanding of Bible. I hope to have him as a life long friend.

John’s book is a must read for anyone who has suffered, especially if you’ve asked how a loving God can allow so much into his world that seems anything but loving. John’s personal story is compelling, thoughtful, and provocative, and his conclusions deeply powerful and Biblical. Many books on suffering are comforting without any personal challenge and many are challenging without any personal comfort. John’s book is both!

John’s heart pours through in his book, ‘The Weeping, The Window, the Way’. If you’ve ever struggled (and who hasn’t), this book will provide you with a solid and sound Biblical framework for wrestling through your struggles. It will stir your heart and challenge your thinking.

John Dozier is one of the most deeply committed men of Christ I have ever known. Having been in a small Bible study and fellowship group together for many years, I can say that John’s sense of mission has never wavered one bit. His greatest joy is bringing the power of Christ into the lives of good men. Year after year, I have watched him prepare and set off for Fellowship: Feast of the Heart in Moab, Utah; watched him return inspired and moved by the hearts that were touched and the connections that were made there. I believe John Dozier’s writing and all of his work is truly inspired.

I have known John for 25 years and have always been impressed with his quiet thoughtful demeanor. John is not only insightful but knowledgeable of what this life is about. When you meet John or run into him he is always that person who is genuinely glad that your paths crossed.

John did an excellent job discussing his book with my Bible study group. He is entertaining, calm, emotionally vulnerable, and passionate about the wide array of difficult and sensitive issues pertaining to his book. John helped me remember my vital role as a Christian is to walk along side others who are struggling—and how we can all do a better job at this. Having a better, wiser attitude about suffering, and to not be surprised when—not if—it happens, is something we can probably be better at doing. I can’t wait to hear him again!

I’m an avid reader. “The Weeping, the Window, the Way” is one of those books I didn’t want to put down!  I planned to read it in conjunction with my small group Bible Study, a chapter a week, but quickly realized I must finish John’s entire book as soon as possible… and then go back and re-read it with the group.  John shares his heart and his trial-tested wisdom in a way that inspires me to grow more and more in my faith.

John”s brief talk was more beautiful, sincere, and powerful than I could ever have imagined! My husband of 28 years, myself, and our guests will be talking about it for a very long time.

Julie Ahlering, St. Louis, MO

John Dozier, a fellow Stephen Minister, did a great job of explaining how God uses suffering in our lives, and how it can make us better and more compassionate people. It is so good to absolutely know that such a loving God uses our suffering to “conform our heart, spirit, and will into the image of Christ”. Amazing Grace! I know one reason I wanted to be a Stephen Minister was that I wanted to “comfort others, wherein God had comforted me” (2 Corinthians 1:3-7). I also liked the part the book on prayer, and how instead of just asking God to stop our suffering, that we need to pray for His strength and grace to move through it, and to learn and grow from it. The Bible passages at the end of the book were wonderful to have as references for my life and ministry. John’s passion for the Lord throughout this book is refreshing, and hopefully contagious. God’s protocol of ‘the weeping, the window, and the way’ works wonders!

Bonni Engel, Stephen Minister, St. Louis, MO

John’s message comes right from the heart, yet he is capable of explaining some very complex theological issues. He holds the audience in the palm of his hand.

John’s presentation is amazingly informative yet so heartfelt and vulnerable! A rare combination… I was so thankful for John’s sharing with our group at such a meaningful level. Both my husband and I have enjoyed the book—which has provided lots of great discussion material too. John is truly blessed, and is devoted to blessing others as well!
